A Task defines a set of actions that are automatically executed by Flame.

Each Task is made up of a number of Task Steps that carry out individual actions.

A Task is executed whenever a Task Trigger has been activated.

When a Task has been executed, a Task Job is created with the results of the task.

When a Task is executed it is ran as if the creator of the Task was carrying out the steps manually. See Task Security.

Viewing Tasks

Tasks can be accessed from the Settings dashboard.

The Tasks grid shows all the tasks in the project

Adding Tasks

A Task can be added from the Tasks grid by clicking on Add New Task.

Adding a new Task

This will display a panel prompting for the following:

PropertyDescription
NameA unique name for the task.  This should a descriptive name to help users understand what the task does.

E.g. EmailReviewersOnAssignment

NOTE: Only Alpha Numeric characters are allowed
DescriptionA long description for the task.

This should be as descriptive as possible, including details of the steps that the task carries out.

E.g. Send an invite email to reviewers on assignment and then send a chase email 4 days later.

Once the task has been added it will need to have Task Steps added to it in order to carry out any actions.  An Task with no Task Steps will not carry out any actions.
