Each Review is defined and controlled by a Review Type.

Each project can have multiple Review Types.

Review Types are configured from the Review Types screen which is available from the Settings Dashboard.

A Review Type specifies the following properties of a Review.

NameThe name of the Review Type.  This must be unique within the project.  It can only contain alphanumeric characters without spaces.

E.g. AbstractReview
Singular LabelThe label to use for the Review when there is a single one

E.g. Abstract Review
Plural LabelThe label to use for the Review when there is more than one

E.g. Abstract Reviews
Review Data DefinitionThe Data Definition that defines the fields to be collected by the Reviews of this type

E.g. Abstract Review Data Definition
Reviewing TypeThe Reviewing type that defines the set of Reviewers the will edit the Reviews of this type

Once a Review Type has been created, it's settings need to be set in order for it to behave correctly.

Allow submitters to see ReviewsThis setting indicates if the submitter of the review's associated submission is allowed to see the review.  This will grant access to the review object but the visibility of individual fields within the review is controlled by Field Visibility Settings.
Allow additional Reviewers to see reviewsIndicate if Additional Reviewers are allowed to see reviews of this review type.
Auto hide reviewer dashboard reviewsIndicate if a table of reviews on the MyReviews page should have completed reviews hidden from view.

This setting only applies to the basic MyReviews table and not the advanced MyReviews table.
Reviewers can review their own submissionIf turned on, it will be possible to Assign a submission to a reviewer where the Reviewer is a contributor or submitter of the submission.
